The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized seven 2025 Honda and Acura models with TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) and TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) ratings, reinforcing their strong commitment to passenger protection.

The highly coveted TSP+ award was given to the Honda Civic Hatchback, Accord, and HR-V, while the Honda Civic Sedan, Pilot, Acura Integra, and MDX earned the TSP designation. These models achieved the highest GOOD rating in the institute’s rigorous small overlap front crash test and updated side crash test, which involves 82% more crash energy than the original test, demonstrating outstanding structural integrity and occupant safety.

Each award-winning model is equipped with Honda Sensing® and AcuraWatch™, advanced safety and driver-assistive technology suites that include Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. With over 9.5 million Honda and Acura vehicles on U.S. roads featuring these systems, the brand is continuously expanding its safety footprint.

Additionally, Honda and Acura vehicles benefit from the Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, designed to optimize crash energy distribution and enhance passenger protection in various collision scenarios. Complementing this, enhanced seatbelt pretensioners and a comprehensive set of airbags, including front, side, knee, and side-curtain airbags, further contribute to occupant safety.

Honda’s approach to safety extends beyond meeting current industry standards—it is actively developing solutions aimed at reducing road fatalities to zero by 2050. This ambitious goal involves advancing automated driving technologies, improving passive safety systems, modifying driver behavior, and collaborating with government agencies and industry partners to enhance road infrastructure.

To support its safety innovations, Honda operates two state-of-the-art crash-test facilities in the U.S. and Japan, allowing for continuous advancements in vehicle safety. The latest IIHS awards confirm that Honda and Acura remain at the forefront of automotive safety, consistently delivering some of the most secure vehicles on the market.
