Nissan has announced its Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 presence, detailing concept models, updated vehicles and events presented by the brand. Learn what to expect.

Nissan has confirmed its participation in Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, taking place from January 9 to 11 at Makuhari Messe. For the company, the event is more than a conventional motor show, serving as a platform traditionally focused on performance, customization and concept-driven projects aimed at brand enthusiasts.

The centerpiece of Nissan’s stand will be the debut of a special NISMO concept model. Details are scheduled to be revealed during the press conference on January 9, underlining the concept’s role as the main highlight of the brand’s presence. Nissan Motorsports & Customization Co., Ltd. will also take part, reflecting the close link between motorsports expertise and vehicle customization within the company.

Among the production-based models on display will be the refreshed Fairlady Z, scheduled for release in Japan in summer 2026. The updated version introduces design changes aimed at improving aerodynamic performance. Particular attention is drawn to the Z NISMO MT, a variant equipped with a manual transmission, positioned for drivers seeking a more engaging and hands-on driving experience.

The exhibition lineup also includes the X-Trail Rock Creek Multibed Wildplay, a concept derived from the Rock Creek edition and developed with outdoor use in mind. Its rugged design, practical interior materials and camping-oriented accessories emphasize a lifestyle-focused approach. Completing the range is the Nissan LEAF AUTECH, highlighting AUTECH’s interpretation of sporty styling combined with a more refined finish.

Heritage and motorsports play a visible role in Nissan’s program. “Matchy’s March,” a restored Nissan March owned by Masahiko “Matchy” Kondo and rebuilt by students from Nissan Automobile College, will be showcased alongside the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R from the 2016 Super GT season. The race car appears as a tribute to Tsugio Matsuda, who is set to retire from Super GT competition after the 2025 season.

Throughout the three-day event, Nissan will host a series of stage programs and talk shows featuring brand representatives and motorsports figures, with selected sessions broadcast via livestream. This approach aligns with Tokyo Auto Salon’s established format, extending the show’s reach beyond the exhibition halls to a global audience.

Nissan’s presence at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 reflects a balanced strategy: reinforcing its performance heritage, presenting the next steps for key models, and maintaining a direct connection with enthusiasts. In a show long regarded as a focal point for the international tuning and performance community, the brand’s lineup signals both continuity and evolution.
