Xpeng introduces the 2025 G6 SUV with a 5C AI battery, charging from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes, and the Turing AI self-driving system. See how it challenges Tesla Model Y and redefines EV technology.

Chinese automaker Xpeng has unveiled the 2025 model of its G6 electric SUV, taking a bold step in EV innovation. Positioned as a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y, the new G6 boasts an ultra-fast 5C AI battery, charging from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes, and a cutting-edge Turing AI autonomous driving system, powered by a high-performance 40-core Turing Chip.

Beyond rapid charging speeds, Xpeng claims its new battery is built to withstand extreme conditions. According to the company, it can endure temperatures over 1000°C, 80 tons of side impact force, and 2000 joules of bottom impact pressure. However, independent tests confirming these claims have not yet been published.

Real-world testing on 350 kW fast chargers has verified impressive charging speeds, reaching 271 kW, nearly matching Xpeng’s official specifications. This makes the G6 one of the most technologically advanced EVs in its class.

Xpeng’s Turing AI system is another ambitious leap towards full autonomy. Built on a powerful 40-core processor, it is designed to support Level 4 autonomous driving in the future. Compared to rival systems, Turing AI processes camera images 12 times faster and offers 33 times more bandwidth.

Despite major upgrades, the G6 2025 is priced 11% lower than its predecessor:

625 Long-range Max Technology Edition — 176,800 yuan (~$24,400).
625 Long-range Max Ultimate Edition — 186,800 yuan (~$25,800).
725 Ultra-long-range Max Ultimate Edition — 198,800 yuan (~$27,500).

Range varies from 625 to 725 km (CLTC), approximately 275–335 miles (EPA).

Xpeng is actively pushing the G6 into European markets. In the Netherlands, the model starts at €43,000, undercutting the Tesla Model Y. In the UK, sales begin in March 2025, with prices starting at £39,990.

However, the G6 will not be available in the U.S. for now, as high tariffs on Chinese EVs make entry into the American market challenging.

Xpeng’s aggressive pricing and high-end features at a lower cost than Tesla are putting serious pressure on global automakers. With Chinese EV brands gaining momentum in Europe, Western manufacturers are being forced to innovate faster and cut prices.

The G6 represents a new phase in EV evolution, where charging takes less time than grabbing a coffee, and AI is bringing autonomous driving closer to reality.

Xpeng is betting on speed, intelligence, and durability, making a strong case for the future of EVs—where affordability and cutting-edge tech go hand in hand.
