Renault 5 Turbo 3E: A Modern Electric Tribute to a Rally Legend

Renault introduces the 5 Turbo 3E, an all-electric tribute to its iconic rally car. With 540 hp and a track-ready design, this limited-edition EV blends performance with heritage. Discover its features now.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is more than just a homage to the legendary 1980s rally beast. It’s a complete reinvention, merging retro aggression with cutting-edge technology. With 540 hp, a 0-100 km/h sprint in under 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 270 km/h on the track, this EV proves that electric power can still deliver an adrenaline rush.
Exclusivity is key. Renault is producing only 1,980 units, a nod to the birth year of the original Turbo. Built at the Alpine plant in Dieppe, a factory renowned for crafting high-performance machines, the 5 Turbo 3E is packed with modern technology. A 70 kWh battery, 350 kW fast-charging support, and track-oriented driving modes make it both a collector’s dream and a thrill-seeker’s weapon.

Its design speaks volumes. Extra-wide wheel arches, massive air intakes, 20-inch alloys, and a charging port cleverly hidden within an air intake—everything about the Turbo 3E screams motorsport heritage. Inside, the cockpit features racing bucket seats with six-point harnesses, a dual 10-inch digital display, and a rally-style handbrake for those who crave controlled drifts.
While Renault hasn’t confirmed whether the 5 Turbo 3E will compete in official racing events, its performance specs and track-focused engineering suggest it could be more than just a road car.
Pricing and availability remain under wraps, but reports suggest a starting price of around £130,000 ($168,000), with highly customized versions reaching £200,000 ($260,000). Deliveries are expected in 2027.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E isn’t just an EV—it’s a statement. A machine that proves electrification can be just as exhilarating as its fuel-burning predecessors, keeping the thrill alive with unrelenting performance and unmistakable style.
