Kia America Highlights 2027 Telluride During Times Square Countdown
Kia America presents the all-new 2027 Telluride during a New Year’s Eve takeover in Times Square, highlighting the SUV and the team behind its production.
Kia America is marking the end of 2025 with a high-profile public moment in the heart of New York City. On New Year’s Eve, the brand will take over the screens at One Times Square to spotlight the all-new 2027 Telluride while also honoring the people behind the SUV’s long-term success.
Beginning at 11:59 p.m. EST, as the countdown to the New Year captures global attention, visuals of the next-generation Telluride will appear on the massive screen beneath the iconic Times Square Ball. Kia plans to highlight the model’s contemporary exterior design, its comfort-focused interior, and the technology features positioned as central to the new generation. In the final seconds of 2025, the imagery will shift from the vehicle itself to the Kia Georgia team members who assemble the Telluride in West Point.
The choice of setting underscores the importance of the model to the brand. Telluride was the first Kia designed specifically for the U.S. market and built in the United States, and it played a key role in reshaping how both consumers and critics perceived the company. Since its launch six years ago, the three-row SUV has become one of Kia’s defining products in North America.
Kia directly links that success to its manufacturing workforce in Georgia. The West Point facility remains the company’s sole U.S. assembly plant and produces hundreds of thousands of vehicles annually, including the Telluride. Placing factory employees at the center of a New Year’s Eve moment suggests a deliberate message about continuity, recognition, and transition.
The second-generation Telluride made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late 2025, where Kia confirmed the introduction of an all-new available hybrid powertrain. The updated model is expected to reach U.S. dealerships in the first quarter of 2026. Against that backdrop, the Times Square takeover functions as an early signal of a broader rollout for the brand’s flagship SUV.
By pairing a global countdown with a product milestone and a public acknowledgment of its workforce, Kia positions the new Telluride as more than just another model update. The moment reflects a wider shift for the company, using the arrival of a new year to frame the next chapter in the Telluride story.
