Nissan held the 2025 ASEAN NISTEC & NISAC contest in Thailand, recognizing top technicians and service advisors who will advance to the global finals in Japan.

Nissan reaffirmed its dedication to service excellence and technical mastery with the regional NISTEC and NISAC competition, held in Bangkok, Thailand. The event brought together aftersales professionals from five ASEAN markets—Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore—each of whom had triumphed in their national skill contests.

Staged at the Nissan Motor Thailand Training Centre for fiscal year 2024/2025, the competition ran under the theme '5E' — Enhance Brand Image, Engage with Customers, Elevate Customer Experience, Excel Your Commitment, and Empower Frontline. More than a contest, it served as a platform to strengthen skills, motivation, and customer satisfaction levels across Nissan’s network.

The technical challenge featured the Nissan Kicks e-POWER, a model that embodies Nissan’s innovation with its electric motor and fuel-efficient powertrain. Technicians were tested on diagnostics, maintenance, and precision work using Nissan's Electronic Service Manual and diagnostic tools. Service advisors demonstrated their customer handling skills through realistic role-play scenarios focused on trust-building and clear communication.

In the NISTEC category, Mr. Yih Khai Chong from Malaysia claimed first place, earning recognition for his fast and accurate diagnostics aligned with Nissan standards. Meanwhile, Mr. Jia Wei Ong from Singapore excelled in the NISAC segment, showcasing superior customer service skills and attention to detail.

Both winners will represent the ASEAN region at the global award ceremony in Japan this November 2025, where they will meet the world’s top technicians and service advisors. Their achievement continues Nissan’s tradition of nurturing talent since 1991 (NISTEC) and 2011 (NISAC).

The competition’s focus on the Nissan Kicks e-POWER is a deliberate choice, reflecting Nissan's forward-looking approach to hybrid technologies and sustainable mobility. According to experts, such programs not only develop skilled professionals but also contribute to higher customer satisfaction levels across the region.

The next regional round is scheduled for fiscal year 2026-2027. For this year’s champions, the journey to Japan marks a significant step forward in their careers.
