Porsche has spun off VIN Art into an independent company to expand personalized car art services, offering custom Porsche portraits for B2B clients worldwide.

Porsche Digital has completed one of its longest-running innovation projects by spinning off VIN Art into an independent company — VIN Art GmbH. This move represents a major step forward for a product that blends digital innovation with a high-quality physical experience tailored to Porsche’s brand values.

Launched in 2021, VIN Art was initially developed as an internal innovation project, offering an exclusive way to portray Porsche vehicles as premium-quality art prints. Each portrait is carefully customized to reflect the individual vehicle’s configuration — from the body color to detailed options — and is printed on thin, glossy aluminum plates. The result highlights not only the design of each car but also Porsche's emphasis on craftsmanship and personalization.

Following steady growth and international adoption, the project was spun off at the beginning of the year into VIN Art GmbH — the first Porsche Digital product to reach this stage. The new structure is designed to support further scaling and enable integration with additional group brands.

According to Stefan Zerweck, CEO of Porsche Digital, the product has a deep-rooted connection to the brand and its development represents one of the division's most enduring innovation journeys. He emphasized that the spin-off allows the product to scale more freely under the guidance of its new leadership.

Now operating independently, VIN Art GmbH focuses on B2B clients — including Porsche national subsidiaries and sales organizations — providing them with personalized artwork as exclusive gifts for their customers. The company has also expanded its product portfolio, developing new bespoke art series inspired by Porsche’s iconic design language.

For Managing Director David Appold, who previously served as Product Manager at Porsche Digital, leading the spin-off marks a personal milestone. With eight years at Porsche Digital, he described the opportunity to externally scale a product with such a long innovation history as a major highlight in his career.

VIN Art GmbH continues to uphold its commitment to premium quality and deep customization, demonstrating how Porsche’s digital initiatives can evolve into fully operational businesses that align with the brand’s legacy of excellence.
