Mercedes-Benz presents the all-new electric GLC at CES 2026, highlighting digital platforms, in-car media, and next-generation driver assistance technologies.

Mercedes-Benz is using CES 2026 as a strategic stage to outline its vision of the future, combining the debut of a new electric vehicle with a broader presentation of its digital ecosystem. At the center of the show is the first public U.S. premiere of the all-new electric Mercedes-Benz GLC, a model that has long played a crucial role in the brand’s sales performance in the American market.

The transition of the GLC into the electric era carries clear symbolic weight. This is not simply an addition to the EV lineup, but the reinvention of one of Mercedes-Benz’s most recognizable and commercially important SUVs. By choosing CES rather than a traditional auto show, the company signals that the success of this model is now defined as much by software, user experience, and connectivity as by its powertrain.

At the core of this shift is the new MB.OS platform, which underpins the fourth generation of MBUX. The electric GLC introduces what Mercedes-Benz describes as its largest continuous display to date, the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, alongside an infotainment system that integrates artificial intelligence technologies from both Microsoft and Google. This approach reflects the brand’s ambition to retain control over its software architecture while advancing it through partnerships with leading technology companies.

Entertainment and in-car media are presented as a key part of the overall experience. At Dolby Live Theater in Las Vegas, Mercedes-Benz highlights immersive audio with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support in Apple CarPlay, positioning the vehicle as an extension of the user’s digital environment. In parallel, the brand showcases developments in video streaming through other models, including the all-new electric CLA, featuring DTS AutoStage Video powered by TiVo and RIDEVU by Sony Pictures Entertainment with IMAX Enhanced content and DTS:X sound.

The technical profile of the electric GLC reinforces its positioning as a new benchmark in the luxury SUV segment. Mercedes-Benz cites an output of 483 hp, an estimated range of up to 713 kilometers under WLTP, and an 800-volt electrical architecture designed to support rapid charging. In driver assistance, the focus is on MB.DRIVE, developed in cooperation with NVIDIA and aligned with SAE Level 2 capabilities, where navigation and assistance functions operate together while keeping the driver fully responsible.

In this context, CES 2026 serves as more than a backdrop. It functions as a platform for Mercedes-Benz to discuss software-defined vehicles, digital services, and the long-term evolution of the automobile. The launch of the electric GLC in the U.S. market in the second half of 2026 marks the next step in that strategy, positioning the model as a central carrier of the brand’s future technologies.
