Volkswagen unveils the new Tayron SUV in Europe, offering ample space, hybrid options, and a unique dog-themed campaign. Learn about global expansion plans.

Volkswagen has officially launched the new Tayron SUV across Europe, reinforcing its position in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. Following strong pre-orders, the first customers are now taking delivery of their vehicles.

Martin Sander, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Board Member for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales, described the Tayron as a true all-rounder. High demand and positive dealer feedback confirm that the model meets the expectations of today's SUV buyers.

To highlight the Tayron’s spacious interior and family-friendly design, Volkswagen launched a unique marketing campaign — this time starring dogs instead of people. In the TV commercial, enthusiastic dogs jump into the SUV to the tune of the iconic hit Who Let The Dogs Out, showcasing the vehicle’s appeal to pet owners. Social media clips further develop the theme, featuring dogs touring Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant where the Tayron is meticulously assembled.

Dealerships celebrated the launch with “Tayron Family Days”, offering visitors test drives and the chance to experience the model’s spacious cabin, premium interior, and impressive load capacity first-hand.

The Tayron comes with a variety of powertrains, including petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options. The hybrid model offers an electric driving range of over 62 miles (100 km). An optional third row of seats transforms the Tayron into a practical choice for large families and active lifestyles.

In Germany, prices start from €45,475, while the UK market offers the base version from £39,850. Beyond Europe, Volkswagen has global plans for the Tayron: it will launch as the new Tiguan in the US and as the Tiguan L Pro in China.

The Tayron is manufactured at Volkswagen plants in Wolfsburg, Mexico, and China. Positioned between the standard Tiguan and the flagship Touareg, it replaces the Tiguan Allspace in the line-up. Industry analysts predict that the Tayron will strengthen Volkswagen’s presence in the mid-size SUV segment and become a strong contender globally.
