Audi A5 e-hybrid quattro Models Unveiled with Up to 110 km Electric Range

Audi introduces the A5 Avant and Sedan e-hybrid quattro with up to 110 km electric range, advanced battery tech, and improved efficiency. Orders start March 27, 2025.
Audi has unveiled the new A5 Avant and A5 Sedan e-hybrid quattro models, expanding its electrified lineup with a focus on efficiency and long electric range. A key highlight is the impressive electric-only driving range of up to 110 kilometers (68 miles) according to the WLTP City cycle, made possible by the newly developed high-voltage battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh (net 20.7 kWh) — a 45% increase over previous generations.
The new plug-in hybrids are available in two power outputs: 220 kW and 270 kW. In the most powerful configuration, the A5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.1 seconds, with a top speed limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). Power comes from a 2.0 TFSI engine delivering 185 kW, paired with a 105 kW electric motor.
Charging times have been significantly improved. Thanks to an 11 kW AC charging capacity, a full charge now takes just 2.5 hours. Additionally, the enhanced regenerative braking system allows the A5 e-hybrid to recover up to 88 kW of energy during deceleration. Drivers can adjust the recuperation level using steering wheel paddles, a feature inspired by Audi’s electric models.
Audi’s intelligent hybrid management system optimizes driving modes, automatically switching between electric and hybrid based on route, terrain, and traffic. For the first time, drivers can manually set the desired battery charge level, preserving energy for city driving when needed.
Prices in Germany start at 62,500 euros for the base Sedan and 64,150 euros for the Avant. The higher-performance variants are priced at 70,900 euros and 72,550 euros, respectively. Orders open in Europe on March 27, 2025, with the market launch set for April.
While European customers will soon see the new models, Audi has confirmed that the U.S. release is currently on hold. The e-hybrid range comes with an 8-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty. For charging convenience, Audi offers access to 600,000 charging points across Europe through its Audi Charging service, which features three flexible plans.
Standard equipment includes advanced driver assistance features, adaptive cruise assist, a panoramic MMI display, and smartphone integration. Practicality is ensured with ample cargo space, a sophisticated climate control system, and increased towing capacity, making the A5 e-hybrid a smart choice for daily driving needs.
With this launch, Audi strikes a balance between performance, comfort, and cutting-edge technology, while staying aligned with growing environmental demands in the automotive market.
