Ford Performance presents new Touring and Extreme exhaust systems for the Mustang EcoBoost S550, focusing on factory fit, reduced weight, and sound character. Read the details.

Ford has expanded its range of factory accessories for the S550-generation Mustang, introducing two exhaust options for models powered by the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. Designed for 2015–2023 cars, the new systems target owners who want a more expressive soundtrack without stepping away from factory-backed components and OEM compatibility.

Both exhausts are listed in the Ford Performance catalog and install as true bolt-on systems, connecting directly to the stock catalytic converters and using original mounting points. This approach underlines Ford’s intention to preserve the car’s production architecture while keeping installation straightforward and modification-free.

Customers can choose between two distinct characters. The Touring version focuses on a more restrained yet richer tone and is stated to comply with a 95 dB drive-by noise limit when fitted to a standard vehicle. The Extreme system, by contrast, delivers a more aggressive sound profile while retaining full mufflers and remaining a complete cat-back setup.

Both systems are manufactured from 304-grade stainless steel and feature 2.25-inch mandrel-bent tubing, ensuring consistent pipe diameter throughout. According to the manufacturer, each setup is around nine kilograms lighter than the factory exhaust, adding a tangible weight-saving benefit alongside the acoustic changes.

The new exhaust packages are available for coupe and convertible Mustang S550 EcoBoost models and are not intended for cars equipped with an active exhaust system. With this release, Ford positions the Touring and Extreme exhausts as a balanced upgrade: more character and reduced weight, delivered within a factory-approved framework.
