Alfa Romeo has officially wrapped up the international media drive for the Junior Ibrida Q4, the brand’s new compact crossover featuring the Q4 all-wheel drive system. Combining front-wheel agility with confident off-road capability, the hybrid offers a versatile driving experience across various surfaces, from city streets to snowy country roads.

The Junior Ibrida Q4 is powered by a 48-volt hybrid system, pairing a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine with two electric motors—one integrated into the front axle’s dual-clutch transmission and the other mounted on the rear axle—for a combined output of 145 hp. For the first time on this platform, Alfa Romeo introduces MultiLink independent rear suspension, enhancing both ride comfort and handling precision. Impressively, CO₂ emissions stay below 120 g/km, positioning the model as one of the cleanest AWD vehicles in its segment.

At the core of the innovation is the intelligent Q4 drivetrain. There’s no mechanical connection between axles; rear-wheel engagement is handled automatically. Thanks to Power Looping Technology, the rear motor remains operational even with low battery levels, as the front electric motor acts as a generator—ensuring uninterrupted AWD functionality.

With the Alfa DNA selector, drivers can fine-tune the car’s performance. In “Dynamic” mode, the car delivers AWD from a standstill up to 40 km/h for maximum grip, before switching to front-wheel drive to enhance energy efficiency. “Natural” and “Advanced Efficiency” prioritize front-wheel drive but automatically engage AWD when traction demands it. “Q4” mode keeps AWD active up to 30 km/h, after which SMART Q4 logic maintains rear motor readiness for seamless torque delivery up to 90 km/h.

On the road, the Q4 system significantly enhances cornering performance—reducing understeer by 30% and improving responsiveness, even in slippery conditions. This makes the Junior Ibrida Q4 an ideal option for both adventure seekers and fleet users, thanks to its adaptability and efficiency.

The model is built in Poland at Stellantis’s plant that also produces the Fiat 600 and Jeep Avenger. European pricing starts from €36,700, with UK prices expected below £30,000. A North American launch is under consideration.

This new version rounds out the Junior lineup—already featuring a full-electric model and a performance-focused Veloce—making Alfa Romeo’s offering the most complete in the premium compact crossover segment. Available in 38 countries at launch, the Junior has already gathered over 30,000 orders, 19% of which are for the electric variant.
