Renault Introduces Filante, a New Premium E-Segment Crossover

Renault has officially revealed the name of its upcoming premium crossover for markets outside Europe: Filante. The model forms part of the brand’s International Game Plan 2027 and underlines Renault’s ambition to strengthen its global presence with higher-end products tailored to regional expertise.

Positioned in the E-segment, Renault Filante is described as a charismatic and bold crossover, combining a stately, forward-looking design with a strong focus on comfort and advanced technologies. Production will take place at Renault Korea’s plant in Busan, with South Korea set to become the first launch market, followed by exports to other regions. Within Renault’s product roadmap, Filante represents the fifth of eight planned launches under International Game Plan 2027.

The choice of the name Filante is deeply rooted in Renault’s heritage. It echoes the Etoile Filante, an experimental single-seater from 1956 inspired by aeronautics, which became famous for setting speed records at Bonneville. This historical reference is complemented by a more recent project, the Filante Record 2025 concept. Developed as a technological demonstrator, it showcased Renault’s pursuit of extreme electric efficiency, reinforcing the symbolic link between innovation, performance, and the Filante name.

South Korea holds a strategic role in Renault’s international ambitions. The company highlights the country’s strong know-how in the D and E segments, while the Busan plant is positioned as a key industrial and export hub. Filante is the second next-generation model developed in Korea as part of International Game Plan 2027, reflecting Renault’s confidence in local engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

All technical and product details of the new crossover will be unveiled on January 13, 2026, in Seoul. Until then, Renault Filante stands as a clear signal of the brand’s move upmarket on international markets, blending historical references, advanced technology, and a region-focused global strategy.
