MINI Cooper S 5-Door Classic Trim: more space, same iconic drive

MINI introduces the Cooper S 5-Door in Classic Trim with extra space, bold design, and a powerful engine. Discover key features and driving technologies.
MINI has unveiled the latest iteration of the MINI Cooper S 5-Door in Classic Trim — a stylish and functional compact car that aims to strike the right balance between urban agility and everyday practicality.
Compared to its 3-door sibling, the 5-Door version adds 172 mm in length, offering more legroom and a noticeable upgrade in comfort. Two additional doors provide easier access to the rear seats and improve overall usability. The boot capacity grows from 275 to 925 litres thanks to the 60:40 split-folding rear seats, offering excellent versatility for daily life or weekend getaways.
Under the hood, a 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivers 150 kW / 204 hp, enabling a top speed of 242 km/h. Despite the power, fuel consumption remains relatively modest at 6.3–6.8 l/100 km (WLTP), with CO₂ emissions ranging from 141 to 152 g/km.
Visually, the model shines — literally — in the vibrant Sunny Side Yellow, a color choice that underlines the car's cheerful character. But the design is more than just looks: compact proportions and short overhangs contribute to an agile turning circle of just 11.4 metres, making it perfect for navigating tight city streets.
The Classic Trim includes key driver assistance features such as dynamic cruise control, parking assistant, and lane change warning. An optional Driving Assistant Plus package is also available via MINI Connected Store, offering enhanced safety and support systems.
On the UK market, the MINI Cooper S 5-Door in Classic Trim is priced from approximately £28,570, positioning it competitively in the compact premium segment.
At this time, there is no official word on an electric version of the 5-Door S model. However, given the brand’s growing focus on sustainable mobility, such a variant could well be part of MINI’s future
