MAN targets 30,000+ van sales in 2025 with renewed global strategy

MAN aims to sell over 30,000 vans in 2025, expanding beyond Europe with new models and markets. Discover how the brand is evolving globally.
MAN Truck & Bus is accelerating its push into the light commercial vehicle segment. Following a record-breaking year with approximately 27,700 vans sold, the company now aims to cross the 30,000-unit mark in 2025. Currently, 98% of MAN’s van sales are in Europe, but the focus is shifting towards new international markets, including the United Arab Emirates, as well as Asia and Eastern Europe, where MAN is investing in manufacturing—particularly in Poland and Uzbekistan.
The van business has become a cornerstone of MAN's growth over the past eight years, jumping from zero to a 3.5% market share in the EU. With that momentum, MAN has rolled out a refreshed model lineup, featuring the MAN TGE Intercity and TGE Coach minibuses built on the updated TGE Next Level platform. These vehicles introduce enhanced design elements and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems, such as collision warning, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition.
Passenger safety takes center stage, with blind spot monitoring and emergency braking now standard, and additional features like turn assist and adaptive cruise control offered as options. For drivers, the redesigned cockpit brings improved ergonomics and digitalization: a multifunction steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, and a central MAN Media Van touch display integrated with smartphone connectivity via MAN SmartLink.
Beyond cargo transport, MAN is expanding its passenger vehicle offerings. The TGE Intercity is available with 16 or 19 seats, including options for wheelchair access, while the TGE Coach delivers a premium travel experience with luxury materials and extra legroom for long-distance touring.
Amid rising popularity of the TGE platform, including among independent converters like Tribus, MAN is positioning itself more strongly in a class traditionally led by the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit, and VW Crafter. Given current investments and its growing international presence, MAN is poised to expand its footprint in a global van market projected to exceed $160 billion in 2025.
