2026 GMC Sierra EV adds new trims, cuts price by over $25,000

The 2026 GMC Sierra EV now starts at $64,495 with up to 460 miles of range and new trims like AT4 and Elevation. See what's new in this premium electric truck.
GMC is making a bold move in the electric pickup market with the launch of the 2026 Sierra EV. The new model not only arrives with significantly more capability, but also with a much lower starting price — over $25,000 less than the 2025 version. The base Elevation trim now starts at $64,495.
The 2026 Sierra EV introduces three battery options — Standard, Extended, and Max Range — and a full trim lineup including the premium Denali, rugged AT4, and entry-level Elevation.
Of the new additions, the AT4 trim stands out. Designed for serious off-road use, it features a 2-inch lift, 35” all-terrain tires, Terrain Mode, GM’s signature CrabWalk function, Super Cruise, and up to 12,300 lbs of towing. It’s one of the most feature-rich electric trucks on the market.
The Elevation, despite being the most affordable option, comes equipped with a massive 16.8” infotainment screen, an eTrunk, and optional 300 kW fast charging. Meanwhile, the flagship Denali Max Range version offers up to 460 miles of range — a segment-leading number that beats out rivals like the Ford F-150 Lightning, which achieved just 282 miles in real-world testing.
Production of the Sierra EV will begin at GM’s Factory Zero in Detroit, while planned output from Orion Assembly has been delayed until mid-2026. Deliveries are expected to start this summer across the U.S.
However, market uptake may depend heavily on policy. A potential repeal of the federal EV tax credit — up to $7,500 — could go into effect in January 2026, posing a risk for higher-priced EVs like the Sierra.
Still, with competitive range, new off-road capabilities, and a sharply lower price tag, the 2026 GMC Sierra EV positions itself as a serious contender in the premium electric pickup space — even if Supercharger support remains off the table for now.
