Mazda 6e debuts in Europe as all-electric hatchback with long range

Mazda 6e, the new all-electric hatchback, arrives in Europe with up to 552 km range, elegant design, and advanced features. Discover Mazda’s electric future.
Mazda has officially unveiled the all-new Mazda6e, a fully electric hatchback designed specifically for the European market. Set to launch in 2026 with a starting price of €44,900, the vehicle marks Mazda’s next major step in its electrification strategy, with a full rollout expected in 2026.
The Mazda6e sports a coupe-inspired fastback silhouette, blending dynamic aesthetics with practical design. It reflects Mazda’s “Kodo – Soul of Motion” design language through its sculpted body lines, low-slung profile, and the brand’s illuminated signature wing at the front. The rear features four cylindrical taillights—a nod to Mazda’s heritage—and a short deck that gives it a sporty saloon feel.
Inside, Mazda embraces Japanese minimalism with the principle of “ma”—the power of empty space. A floating horizontal dashboard, a driver-focused center console, and ambient lighting with 64 color options create a sense of calm and elegance. The panoramic roof enhances the open, airy cabin, while upholstery ranges from artificial leather to high-grade Nappa and Suede fabric.
Under the hood, two drivetrain options are available. The standard version features a 68.8 kWh battery and a 258 hp motor, offering a WLTP range of up to 479 km. The Long Range model comes with an 80 kWh battery, a 245 hp motor, and a range of up to 552 km. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes between 7.6 and 7.8 seconds.
The Mazda6e is built on the Changan EPA1 platform—also used in the Chinese Deepal L07—and is manufactured at the Changan Mazda joint venture facility in Nanjing, China. In China, the same vehicle is marketed as the Mazda EZ-6.
On the tech side, the car includes key driver assistance features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition. The infotainment setup includes a 14.6-inch touchscreen, augmented reality instrument display, and multilingual voice control. However, support for OTA updates has not been confirmed.
There is no official information yet on plans to launch the Mazda6e in markets beyond Europe and China. Additionally, Mazda has not announced any charging infrastructure partnerships related to this model.
With its bold design, solid range, and blend of tradition and innovation, the Mazda6e represents more than just a new electric car—it’s a confident step into Mazda’s future in electric mobility.
