Mobilize, part of Renault Group, will open 650 ultrafast EV charging stations in France, Italy, Spain, and Belgium by 2028. Learn how the network will support electric mobility.

Mobilize, a subsidiary of Renault Group, has unveiled an ambitious plan to establish 650 ultrafast EV charging stations across France, Italy, Belgium, and Spain by 2028. This move is part of the company’s broader strategy to support the transition to electric mobility and generate new recurring revenues amid the industry's electrification shift.

Since early 2023, Mobilize has launched 25 charging stations in France and aims to reach 100 nationwide by the end of 2025. The expansion will then focus on Belgium and Spain during 2025 and 2026. In Italy, Mobilize is leveraging a strategic partnership with Free To X, which already operates over 100 ultrafast charging stations along highways. These stations offer power levels up to 320 kW, with average spacing of just 50 kilometers.

Mobilize’s new network emphasizes speed and convenience. With charging capabilities up to 320 kW, drivers can recover up to 400 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes—about the time it takes to enjoy a coffee. In fact, many locations will include dedicated lounge areas with Wi-Fi, snacks, restrooms, and private phone booths to optimize the user experience.

The network supports “Plug & Charge” technology, allowing compatible vehicles to begin charging automatically when plugged in, without the need for a card or app. Mobilize Charge Pass holders, particularly Renault EV owners, benefit from preferential pricing of €0.39/kWh for one year, while all users enjoy an introductory rate of €0.41/kWh for the first two months when paying by card.

With Europe’s EV charging market projected to grow at a CAGR of 33.7% through 2032, Mobilize’s initiative appears both timely and essential. The network’s reliability—boasting over 99% uptime and 24/7 maintenance—positions it as a premium solution. Renault Group sees such ventures as integral to its transformation, aiming for Mobilize to contribute 20% of the group’s total revenue by 2030.

As demand for high-speed charging infrastructure accelerates, Mobilize is betting on quality, reliability, and user-centric features to lead the charge.
