Lucid Motors resumes Gravity electric SUV deliveries by April 2025 after NY debut and production ramp-up. Learn about specs, price, and expansion plans.

Lucid Motors is getting ready to put its flagship electric SUV, the Gravity, back on the road. After a glitzy debut in New York City's Meatpacking District — complete with a surprise performance by Cautious Clay — the company confirmed that customer deliveries will resume by the end of April.

Production is ramping up at Lucid’s Casa Grande factory in Arizona. Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff stated the company is finalizing builds for showroom models and test drives, with customer handovers set to follow shortly.

Although Lucid first opened Gravity orders in November 2024, initial deliveries were limited to employees, friends, and family. Now, the real commercial phase begins. Lucid is counting on Gravity to help double its total EV production to 20,000 units in 2025 — a major leap from the previous year’s 10,241 vehicles.

Specs-wise, the Gravity doesn’t disappoint. With an EPA-estimated range of up to 450 miles, 828 horsepower, and 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, this three-row SUV combines performance with practicality. It also boasts up to 120 cubic feet of interior space — rivaling the Cadillac Escalade — and features a 123 kWh battery with native NACS support, making it the first non-Tesla to charge at Superchargers.

Currently, only the high-end Grand Touring trim is available for order, priced from $94,900. A more affordable Touring version is expected later this year, starting at $79,900. The model’s reach is expanding fast — orders just opened in Saudi Arabia, and a European launch is slated for 2026.

While Lucid has not disclosed the number of preorders, reports indicate that over 75% of new Gravity buyers are first-time Lucid customers — a promising sign of interest amid fierce competition from the likes of Tesla Model X, Rivian R1S, and BMW iX.

Looking ahead, Lucid plans to introduce a more affordable midsize crossover by late 2026, positioned to compete with the Tesla Model Y. The company is also investing in licensing its EV technologies to other automakers, a move that reflects its broader strategy to diversify revenue streams.
