BMW Group once again produced more than one million vehicles at its German plants in 2025. As a result, roughly one quarter of all cars manufactured in Germany during the year came from BMW Group facilities, against a total national output of 4.15 million vehicles.

The company views this performance as a clear signal of the competitiveness of Germany as an industrial location. Milan Nedeljković, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, said the result reflects the systematic use of innovation and digitalisation, while stressing that future success will depend on maintaining competitive framework conditions for industry in Germany.

The BMW Group plants in Dingolfing, Leipzig, Munich and Regensburg continue to form the backbone of the company’s production footprint in Germany. All four sites are embedded in the BMW iFACTORY strategy, which focuses on streamlined structures, efficient processes and a high degree of flexibility. According to the group, this approach is central to maintaining competitiveness across its global production network.

A defining feature of BMW’s German operations is their technology openness. Vehicles with internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and fully electric drivetrains are built on a single production line. This setup enables BMW Group to respond quickly to shifts in demand and changing market conditions, strengthening resilience in a rapidly evolving automotive industry.

Vehicles produced in Germany are primarily destined for the European market. At the same time, BMW Group follows a principle of globally balanced value creation, with production volumes in Europe, China and the Americas broadly aligned with sales in each region.

Detailed production figures for 2025, including plant-level data, are scheduled to be published as part of the Integrated BMW Group Report in March 2026.
