Good Housekeeping names the 2026 Honda Accord Best Family Sedan, highlighting updates, hybrid availability and why the model continues to lead its segment.

The Honda Accord has once again reinforced its long-standing reputation in the midsize segment after being named “Best Family Sedan” at the Good Housekeeping 2026 Best Family Car Awards. The recognition applies not only to gasoline-powered versions but also to the hybrid-electric Accord.

This marks the ninth consecutive win for the Accord in the family sedan category and the 14th overall award for American Honda since 2017. The result highlights the model’s consistent ability to meet the practical and comfort-focused expectations that define Good Housekeeping’s evaluation process.

Vehicles considered for the awards undergo extensive real-world testing, including thousands of miles on the road, assessments of interior space and cargo usability, hands-on evaluation of child-seat installation, and close scrutiny of infotainment systems and everyday convenience features. Within this framework, the Accord once again stood out for its balance of comfort, usability, and efficiency.

The refreshed 2026 Honda Accord played a notable role in securing the award. Standard equipment has been expanded to include a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. Design updates were also introduced, with black exterior accents on Sport Hybrid models and new 19-inch alloy wheels for the Accord SE.

The 2026 Accord lineup consists of six trim levels, ranging from turbocharged LX and SE variants to hybrid-powered Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring models. More than 50 percent of Accord sales now come from hybrid versions, underscoring their growing importance within Honda’s broader electrification strategy.

As America’s best-selling car over the past five decades, and with the current 11th-generation Accord remaining especially popular among Millennials, Gen Z, and first-time buyers, the latest Good Housekeeping award reflects not a sudden breakthrough, but the continuation of a well-established formula that continues to resonate with family car buyers.
