In 2026, Renault is rolling out an extensive and carefully layered programme around the new Twingo E-Tech electric, positioning the compact city car as a key element in the brand’s return to the affordable electric segment.
Following its reveal in autumn 2025 and the publication of pricing in December, the Twingo E-Tech electric is set to make its first public appearance from 9 to 18 January 2026 at the Brussels Motor Show. Displayed on the Renault stand alongside other electric models, the car will highlight not only its design but also its everyday practicality, including individually sliding rear seats, a boot capacity of up to 360 litres, and the ability to carry long objects thanks to a foldable front passenger seat.
A central part of the launch programme is Twingomania, a collaboration with European start-ups that brings together six electric mobility objects inspired by the spirit and design cues of the Twingo E-Tech electric. The line-up includes an ultra-compact electric skateboard, a modular electric bodyboard for water sports, a multifunctional electric marine propulsion unit, an urban electric bicycle with BMX influences, a minimalist electric scooter, and an electric motorcycle. Each reflects the playful and unconventional character associated with the Twingo name.
During the spring, the focus shifts to Paris, where the Twingo E-Tech electric will take centre stage at Expo Twingo on the Champs-Elysées, running until September. Early summer will see the venue host the Festival Twingo, combining music and urban culture with the model’s launch narrative. At the same time, international press test drives will allow journalists to assess the car’s dynamic behaviour, interior practicality and equipment in real-world conditions.
Technically, the Twingo E-Tech electric is based on Renault’s AmpR Small platform, shared with the Renault 5 E-Tech and Renault 4 E-Tech. It is powered by a 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor and a 27.5 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP driving range of around 260 kilometres. Production is scheduled to take place at Renault Group’s plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
Renault underlines the car’s accessibility, with the entry-level Evolution version positioned below €20,000 in several European markets before local incentives. Orders for the general public open on 8 January 2026. The model’s presence at Roland-Garros, where Renault continues as a premium partner, further strengthens its visibility during the launch year.
Taken together, the scale of the programme and the choice of venues suggest that the Twingo E-Tech electric is more than just another addition to Renault’s electric line-up. It represents a strategic move to re-establish a compact, accessible electric car as a meaningful option for urban Europe.
