Get up to $36,000 off the Chevrolet BrightDrop EV van with a $25,500 discount, $7,500 tax credit, and $3,000 Costco offer. See how to qualify.

General Motors is making a bold move to shake up the commercial EV market by offering massive discounts on its BrightDrop electric vans. Through the end of June 2025, both the BrightDrop 400 and 600 models are eligible for a direct $25,500 price cut. Combined with a potential $7,500 federal tax credit and an additional $3,000 discount for Costco Auto members, buyers could see total savings reach an impressive $36,000.

This pricing strategy appears aimed at boosting demand for a model line that has lagged behind competitors. In 2024, GM sold just 1,529 BrightDrop vans—well below the figures reported by Ford (12,610 E-Transits) and Rivian (13,423 RCVs).

The entry-level BrightDrop 400 with front-wheel drive and a 14-module battery starts at $78,625, freight included. With all discounts applied, the price drops to $42,300—nearly half off. For comparison, the gasoline-powered Chevrolet Express starts at $43,695. The more capable BrightDrop 600 with all-wheel drive and a 20-module battery can be had for around $46,400 after incentives.

Built on GM’s Ultium platform, the BrightDrop vans are assembled at the CAMI plant in Canada. Formerly branded as Zevo, the model faced a slow production ramp-up due to limited demand. Now, GM is turning to aggressive pricing to compete in a market where EV adoption is accelerating rapidly.

The BrightDrop lineup offers a range of 159 to 272 miles depending on configuration, and cargo space can reach up to 600 cubic feet. Real-world performance varies: one Zevo 600 owner reported achieving 2.25 miles per kWh at moderate speeds, dropping at higher speeds.

For small businesses considering a switch to electric commercial transport, now might be the right time. However, buyers should note that the offer is time-limited, not available at all dealerships, and Costco members must have joined by February 23, 2025, to qualify for the additional discount.
