Hyundai is offering five $10,000 scholarships to female STEM students in the U.S. Apply by June 30, 2025, and share your vision of people-centered technology.

Hyundai has officially opened applications for its sixth annual Women in STEM Scholarship, reinforcing its commitment to supporting young women pursuing careers in science and technology. This year, five female students will each be awarded $10,000, continuing Hyundai’s efforts to empower the next generation of innovators in engineering, mobility, and autonomous driving.

Since the program’s launch in 2020, Hyundai has invested $300,000 to support future women leaders in STEM. Eligible applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduate students residing in the U.S., who identify as female and are pursuing a STEM-related field.

A key requirement for the application is an essay on the topic “Putting People at the Heart of Tech,” reflecting Hyundai’s vision of developing human-centered technology. Essays will be evaluated based on depth of thought (50%), relevance to the theme (30%), writing quality (15%), and grammatical accuracy (5%).

Past recipients have shown how impactful this scholarship can be. For example, 2021 winner Quynh Nguyen, a biomedical engineering student at the University of Houston, was recognized for her drive to use technology to improve human lives.

Although detailed insights into the career paths of all former winners and potential internship opportunities with Hyundai are not publicly available, the continuity of this program and its growing reputation suggest it is becoming a valuable and impactful initiative, especially in comparison to similar offerings from other automakers.
