FIAT has presented the Qubo L, a family MPV offering diesel, petrol and electric versions, flexible seating and strong focus on space. Read the full overview.

The return of the Qubo name under the new Qubo L badge feels less like nostalgia and more like a calculated response to current market conditions. As SUVs and even compact cars continue to rise in price, FIAT is betting on a format many manufacturers are gradually abandoning: a practical family MPV built around space and versatility.

The Qubo L is offered in two body lengths, measuring 4.40 and 4.75 metres. The longer version accommodates up to seven passengers, with three individually adjustable seats in the second row, all fitted with Isofix mounts. The interior is designed to adapt easily to different needs: rear seats can be folded or removed, while a foldable front passenger seat allows the transport of items up to three metres long. In total, the cabin offers up to 144 seating configurations and 27 storage compartments.

Practicality also defines the technical side of the Qubo L. It is the only model in FIAT’s current lineup to retain diesel power. Buyers can choose between 100 hp and 130 hp diesel engines, including an automatic option, a 110 hp petrol engine, or a fully electric 136 hp version available exclusively for the five-seat configuration. For combustion-engine models, FIAT states a driving range of up to 900 kilometres on a single tank.

Visually, the Qubo L avoids chasing trends. Its boxy proportions and simple design prioritise interior volume over styling flair. This approach, long associated with van-based vehicles, allows for generous cabin space within relatively compact external dimensions. The same philosophy continues inside, with a high seating position, upright posture, and tall dashboard reflecting its functional roots.

At the same time, equipment levels move beyond a bare-bones impression. Depending on trim, the Qubo L features a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, an infotainment system, and an electronic parking brake. Everyday usability is further enhanced by sliding side doors on both sides, a fold-out table for rear passengers, and the Magic Windows glass roof, which provides access to the luggage area without opening the tailgate.

An Extended Grip Control system is also offered, designed to improve traction and stability on low-grip surfaces. Combined with the vehicle’s flexible interior and broad engine lineup, this underlines the Qubo L’s role as a tool for real-life mobility rather than a lifestyle statement.

With a starting price below €22,000 and market launch planned for early 2026, the Qubo L enters a segment where affordable, spacious family vehicles are becoming increasingly rare. In a market driven by fashion and rising costs, FIAT’s latest MPV positions itself as a rational alternative focused on everyday value.
