Bentley recognizes outstanding European retailers at annual Scorecard Awards

Bentley awarded top-performing European retailers, with Bentley Bucuresti leading. Discover the winners and the brand’s outlook in a changing market.
Bentley Motors has honoured its best-performing retailers in Europe at the annual Scorecard Awards ceremony, held on 31 March in Munich. Taking the spotlight, Bentley Bucuresti was named “Best of the Best” and also claimed three additional titles, including “Sales Retailer of the Year.”
The handcrafted trophies, produced in Bentley’s Crewe wood shop, reflect the brand’s commitment to fine craftsmanship. Each award features Open Pore Veneer and the iconic self-levelling wheel badge — a nod to Bentley’s attention to detail.
This year, accolades were handed out across six categories: sales, aftersales, marketing, pre-owned, Mulliner customisation, and overall performance. Other winners included Bentley Frankfurt (Aftersales Retailer of the Year), Bentley Hamburg (Marketing Retailer of the Year), Bentley Riga (Pre-Owned Retailer of the Year), and Bentley Stuttgart (Mulliner Retailer of the Year).
Judging was based on a combination of metrics, including sales volumes, profitability, service loyalty, and customer experience. Richard Leopold, Regional Director of Bentley Motors EMEA, highlighted the strategic importance of Europe for the brand and expressed gratitude for the network’s commitment.
While Bentley continues to expand its presence in Europe and recently introduced updated versions of the Continental GT and Flying Spur, market performance has seen notable fluctuations. After an 11% rise in European sales in 2022, the region experienced a 15% decline in 2023. Europe's share of global sales dipped from 19% to 18%, reflecting a broader slowdown in luxury vehicle demand in some countries.
As Bentley extends its Beyond100+ strategy — now aiming to become an all-electric brand by 2035 — the role of regional retailers becomes even more crucial. Their efforts are instrumental in driving transformation and ensuring the brand’s continued success in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
