Mazda Hits Record Monthly Sales in U.S., Driven by CX-50, CX-70, and CX-90

Mazda reports record 43,097 U.S. vehicle sales in March 2025. Strong SUV demand led growth as the company closed its fiscal year with 510,654 units sold.
Mazda has wrapped up its fiscal year with a remarkable milestone: in March 2025, the automaker recorded its best-ever monthly sales in North America, moving 43,097 vehicles. This record performance pushed Mazda’s annual total to 510,654 units sold, including certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles.
Sales were up 16.1% year-over-year, and with one fewer selling day compared to March 2024, the daily selling rate (DSR) rose by 20.6%. Mazda’s SUV lineup led the charge: the CX-50 (9,687 units), CX-70 (2,452), and CX-90 (5,039) all posted record March figures.
The CX-50’s momentum stems from upgrades introduced for the 2025 model year, while the newly launched CX-70 has quickly gained traction thanks to its practical, two-row layout. The CX-90 continues to perform strongly as Mazda’s flagship three-row SUV, underlining the brand’s growing focus on the SUV segment in North America.
While Mazda3 sales declined, the MX-5 Miata showed a 57.3% increase, indicating steady enthusiasm for compact, performance-oriented models.
Strong performances were also reported in Canada and Mexico. Mazda Canada posted a 42.9% year-over-year gain for March, while Mazda Motor de Mexico saw a 25% increase. Year-to-date growth reached 21.5% and 30%, respectively.
Mazda’s financials are on the rise as well. For the fiscal year ending March 2024, revenue reached ¥4.83 trillion. The company forecasts ¥5 trillion in revenue by March 2025, with global sales expected to climb to 1.35 million units. North America remains a key market, with a projected year-over-year gain of over 90,000 units.
As part of its electrification strategy, Mazda is investing in EV production in Thailand and expects one-third of its U.S. sales to come from EVs and plug-in hybrids by 2030. Meanwhile, its retail network expansion continues: the U.S. now features 300 open-concept dealerships covering 85% of Mazda sales.
With strong SUV momentum, a growing retail footprint, and long-term investments in electrification, Mazda ends the year with confidence and a clear direction for the road ahead.
