SEAT reveals two new exclusive colours, Liminal and Oniric, for the updated Ibiza and Arona. Explore how these shades were developed and when they become available.

SEAT continues to update its compact models by focusing not only on technology and equipment, but also on visual identity. For the refreshed SEAT Ibiza and SEAT Arona, the brand has introduced two new exclusive body colours, Liminal and Oniric, both developed through an extensive creative and research-driven process.

Developing a new automotive colour takes months and involves hundreds of tests. According to SEAT designers, creating a colour is far more than selecting a shade. Pigments, light and materials all play a decisive role. A colour behaves differently on paper, fabric or metal, and it changes depending on viewing angle and lighting conditions. For a car that is constantly in motion, this complexity becomes especially important.

Both new colours are inspired by the aesthetics of the virtual world, where the boundary between the real and the artificial is increasingly blurred. This idea is central to Liminal. The term refers to a transitional state, and the colour reflects this concept visually. Depending on how the light hits the surface, Liminal can appear more orange or shift toward magenta tones, revealing different nuances as the vehicle moves.

Oniric was conceived with a different intention. The goal was to create a very clean and calm colour, free of visual particles. Designers describe its inspiration as a dreamlike lake in a virtual environment. Subtle greenish tones and a sense of clarity give the colour depth while maintaining a restrained, almost meditative character.

Liminal and Oniric expand the updated colour range of the Ibiza and Arona, alongside the existing exclusive shade Hypnotic. Oniric is already available on both models, while Liminal will become available from March 2026, with market availability linked to the spring 2026 production schedule.

The introduction of these new colours coincides with a broader update of the Ibiza and Arona. Both models feature refreshed exterior elements, new wheel designs and improved interior materials. At the same time, SEAT continues to rely on petrol powertrains, while preparing the lineup for future emissions regulations and the gradual introduction of mild-hybrid technologies in the coming years.

With Liminal and Oniric, colour becomes more than a styling choice. It forms part of the overall positioning of the models, reinforcing the youthful and dynamic character of the Ibiza and the more robust, versatile image of the Arona, while reflecting how digital and virtual influences are shaping contemporary automotive design.
