The new 2027 Kia Telluride arrives as a carefully measured evolution rather than a radical reinvention. It remains a spacious three-row SUV built around family usability, yet now leans closer to the pseudo-premium space where design, technology, and attention to detail matter as much as practicality.

Kia has officially announced pricing for the gasoline-powered 2027 Telluride. The range starts at $39,190 MSRP for the front-wheel-drive LX trim, excluding destination charges. The lineup spans LX, S, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige models, alongside the more rugged X-Line and X-Pro variants. At the top end, all-wheel-drive versions climb beyond $56,000. Production takes place at Kia’s plant in West Point, Georgia.

Every ICE version of the 2027 Telluride comes standard with a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. Kia notes that torque output has increased by nearly 50 lb-ft compared to the previous generation. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel or all-wheel drive available depending on trim. While full performance figures have yet to be released, the company points to stronger acceleration and improved efficiency over the outgoing model.

Visually, the Telluride stays true to its boxy, muscular identity. Dimensions grow slightly, with a longer wheelbase but familiar proportions. The X-Pro stands out as the most rugged interpretation, featuring over nine inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, recovery hooks, and dedicated terrain drive modes for snow, mud, and sand.

Design details play a major role in the new model’s character. Flush door handles, a hidden rear wiper, a neatly concealed tow hitch, and cleverly integrated side reflectors help preserve clean surfaces and vertical rear lighting. From certain angles, the Telluride carries a presence more commonly associated with far more expensive SUVs.

The interior represents one of the most significant steps forward. Materials feel more refined, the layout is logical, and overall execution suggests a move upmarket. The X-Pro adds carbon-style trim to reinforce its utilitarian edge. Importantly, Kia retains physical controls for climate and seat functions, resisting the trend toward fully touchscreen-based cabins.

Technology includes a modern infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster with blind-spot cameras, and a larger head-up display. New features allow scheduled climate operation, while radar-based interior monitoring can detect movement inside a locked vehicle and alert the owner.

Passenger comfort remains a priority. The second row offers generous space along with heated and ventilated seats, USB-C ports, and window sunshades. Seats slide and tilt forward while maintaining their shape, simplifying access to the third row even with a child seat installed. The third row benefits from its own air vents, charging ports, and upgraded trim.

The cargo area reflects the same attention to detail. Space remains usable even with the third row in place, while a multi-level floor with adjustable partitions, hidden storage compartments, and a tailgate-mounted light with adjustable brightness and color temperature add real-world versatility.

A hybrid Telluride HEV is set to follow. Kia has confirmed that pricing and final specifications will be announced closer to its expected start of sales in late Q1 2026. Given current market trends, the hybrid could become a pivotal addition to the Telluride lineup.

Overall, the 2027 Telluride strengthens its position through thoughtful refinement. It builds on familiar strengths while introducing enough new substance to remain competitive in one of the most crowded segments of the market.
