How Porsche Creates Its Exclusive 911 Limited-Edition Models

Discover how Porsche 911 Dakar, S/T, and Turbo 50 Years are built with unique design, craftsmanship, and personalisation. Explore specs, pricing, and factory insights.
The limited-edition Porsche 911 models — Dakar, Turbo 50 Years, and S/T — are far more than high-performance sports cars. They represent a unique fusion of tradition, cutting-edge engineering, and the pursuit of personalisation. In an era dominated by automation, Porsche proves that craftsmanship still matters.
All these models are produced at the Zuffenhausen plant, the historical heart of Porsche. Here, everything from standard Carrera models to race-spec 911s are assembled on a single line. But the magic begins off the main path — in the Manufaktur stages. In the Exclusive Manufaktur, for instance, a customised 911 can spend up to six days undergoing hand-applied details such as leather inserts, trim enhancements, and unique visual accents.

For clients seeking something truly one-of-a-kind, there’s the Sonderwunsch Manufaktur. It’s where imagination takes the wheel. One notable example is a bespoke three-tone 911 Dakar, commissioned by an Italian customer who personally helped mask the body for the custom hand paint job.
Then there's the carbon fibre Manufaktur — designed for the most purist models like the S/T. There, lightweight add-on components made from carbon fibre are fitted by hand to achieve exact alignment and reduce total vehicle weight to just 1,380 kilograms.
Porsche 911 Dakar

Presented as the spiritual successor to the legendary 1984 911 Carrera 3.2 4x4 Paris-Dakar, the new 911 Dakar blends sports car dynamics with off-road capability. With the Rallye Design Package, it pays homage to its iconic predecessor.
Porsche 911 S/T

Limited to 1,963 units, the 911 S/T celebrates 60 years of the 911 legacy. It is priced from €292,187 including VAT, with the optional Heritage Design Package adding another €17,505.
Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years

To mark the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo, Porsche launched a special edition model that combines outstanding performance and luxury with design elements inspired by historic Turbo models. The interior and exterior fuse heritage cues with modern refinements.
These personalisation options aren’t exclusive to limited editions. Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur program is available across the entire lineup — from the 718 to the Taycan. Customers can choose from hundreds of configurations: special trims, unique stitching, paint colours, leather accents, and even illuminated door projections. It all starts with a consultation and ends with a truly individualised machine.
The Zuffenhausen factory is where it all began. Since 1950, when the first Porsche 356 rolled out of the facility, it has evolved into a cutting-edge production site that blends high-tech automation with meticulous handcrafting. That duality doesn’t just deliver quality — it infuses soul into every car.
With increasing demand for bespoke luxury and identity-driven ownership experiences, it’s no surprise that programs like Sonderwunsch are poised to expand. Porsche isn’t building just cars — it’s building dreams.
