Citroën made a decisive impact in Formula E by claiming its first-ever victory in Mexico City and immediately reshaping the competitive order. After just two races of Season 12, the French manufacturer moved to the top of the standings, placing itself ahead of established rivals such as Porsche, Nissan, Mahindra and Jaguar.

The breakthrough was driven by Nick Cassidy. Starting from 13th on the grid, he steadily worked his way through the field and took the chequered flag. The win was built on control rather than risk, combining pace, strategy and energy management to deliver a result that lifted Citroën Racing into championship contention.

The team’s overall performance was reinforced by Jean-Éric Vergne. Beginning the race from 18th position, he fought into the points to finish eighth, adding crucial support on a circuit where overtaking is notoriously difficult.

Across the Mexico City weekend, Citroën Racing scored 29 points, bringing its season total to 44. That haul was enough to put the team at the head of the Teams’ Championship and move Stellantis into the lead of the Manufacturers’ standings, ahead of Porsche, Nissan, Mahindra and Jaguar.

The victory came during the 150th race in Formula E history and followed a podium finish in São Paulo, underlining the strength of Citroën’s opening to the season. From the outset, the brand has shown that it entered Formula E not to observe, but to challenge — and to beat — some of the championship’s most established names.
