Polestar 2 receives 2026 updates with Bowers & Wilkins sound, Snapdragon chip, new design, and Plug & Charge tech. Explore features and pricing now.

Polestar has rolled out a comprehensive update to its first electric vehicle, the Polestar 2, bringing a range of technological, design, and comfort upgrades for the 2026 model year.

A key highlight is the integration of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, enhancing infotainment responsiveness, speeding up app downloads, and providing an overall smoother digital experience. This move reflects the growing emphasis on in-car tech in the competitive EV market.

Sound quality takes center stage with the debut of the optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Featuring 14 speakers and 1,350 Watts of output, the system includes Tweeter-on-Top and Continuum technologies, promising audiophile-grade clarity and minimal distortion.

Visually, the Polestar 2 introduces a new “Dune” metallic paint with a subtle mica finish. The redesigned 20-inch forged alloy wheels — now the lightest in the Polestar 2 range — are available as part of the Performance Pack. Refreshed interior options, such as quilted Charcoal MicroTech upholstery and Black Ash trim, contribute to the premium feel and are offered through the optional Plus Pack.

The model also adopts Plug & Charge technology, previously seen in the Polestar 3. This feature enables automatic charging initiation at compatible public stations, eliminating the need for cards or third-party apps. Activation is done via the Polestar Charge app or in-car settings.

A new bundled Prime Pack combines the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packages along with rear privacy glass. Tinting is now applied to both rear side windows and the tailgate glass for enhanced comfort and privacy.

Technical improvements include a new 70 kWh CATL battery for the Standard range Single motor variant, replacing the former 69 kWh LG Chem unit. This upgrade extends the range to up to 554 km (WLTP).

The 2026 Polestar 2 is now available to order in Europe (excluding Iceland and Ireland), Hong Kong, and Israel, with more markets to follow. Pricing starts at $47,200. Company leadership emphasized that these updates reflect the brand’s commitment to refining its first EV with each model year and enhancing the overall customer experience. Experts suggest that the latest improvements help the Polestar 2 stay competitive against rivals like the Tesla Model 3 by offering a balanced package of performance, innovation, and design.
