Mercedes-Benz Group closed 2025 with total sales of around 2.16 million cars and vans, demonstrating resilience in a challenging market environment and a clear shift toward high-margin and electric models. The fourth quarter became the strongest of the year, underlining the company’s ability to regain momentum in the second half despite pressure from tariffs and intense competition.

Premium and performance vehicles played a central role in this result. Mercedes-AMG increased deliveries by 7%, while the G-Class achieved its best year ever with more than 49,000 units sold. The Top-End segment accounted for 15% of total sales, reflecting the brand’s strategic focus on higher-value vehicles and exclusive derivatives.

At the same time, Mercedes-Benz made visible progress in electrification. In Europe, the share of electrified vehicles reached 40%, and fully electric sales accelerated toward the end of the year. Demand for the new electric CLA and GLC significantly exceeded expectations, with the order bank for the electric GLC already filled well into the second half of 2026. This indicates growing customer confidence in electric drivetrains, even in traditionally conservative vehicle segments.

The regional picture remains mixed. Strong growth was recorded in South America, the Gulf States and several European markets, while sales in China declined year-on-year. The company attributes this to weaker demand and intensifying local competition, while continuing to focus on long-term positioning and leadership in the highest price segments.

Mercedes-Benz Vans also showed resilience. Sales increased quarter-on-quarter in Q4, and deliveries of electric vans rose sharply over the full year, confirming increasing acceptance of electric solutions among both commercial and private customers. Further momentum is expected in 2026 with the launch of the all-new electric VLE, aimed at redefining the privately positioned van segment.

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz will continue the largest product and technology launch program in its history throughout 2026. Major updates for the S-Class, GLE and GLS are planned, alongside the market introduction of new electric models including the GLC and C-Class, as well as the first series-production AMG based on a dedicated electric architecture. Current order levels and demand trends suggest that premium positioning combined with electrification will remain a key pillar of the brand’s strategy in the coming years.
