BMW Group reports that MINI increased global sales in 2025, with electric vehicles exceeding one third of deliveries. Explore key figures and trends.

MINI closed 2025 with one of the strongest results in its history, combining solid global sales growth with a decisive shift toward electric mobility. The brand delivered 288,290 vehicles worldwide, marking a 17.7% increase compared to the previous year. A key highlight was the surge in fully electric models: 105,535 electric MINIs were handed over to customers, pushing the share of battery electric vehicles to more than one third of total global sales.

This growth was not limited to a single market. In several countries, including the Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey, and China, fully electric models accounted for more than 50% of MINI sales, underlining how quickly electrification is becoming a mainstream choice rather than a niche option.

The main volume driver in 2025 was the MINI Countryman, the largest model in the portfolio. It represented 32.4% of total MINI sales, with 93,305 units delivered worldwide. Sales of the Countryman increased by 15.2% year on year, while the fully electric version recorded an even sharper rise of 81.8%, reflecting growing demand for compact SUVs with electric powertrains.

The performance-oriented John Cooper Works sub-brand also set a new benchmark. With 25,630 vehicles sold, JCW achieved a sales increase of 59.5% and reached a record share of 8.9% of total MINI volume. In markets such as the UK, Italy, Japan, and Australia, JCW models posted their highest sales figures to date.

The traditional MINI Cooper family continued to contribute steadily to overall growth. Combined sales of the 3-Door, 5-Door, and Convertible models reached 162,789 units. Particularly strong results came from the MINI Cooper 5-Door, which grew by 26.5%, and from the new-generation MINI Cooper Convertible, introduced in 2025 and already delivering 22,491 units.

Building on this momentum, MINI is preparing for the next phase of its product strategy. From 2026, the MINI Cooper 3-Door, 5-Door, and Convertible — in both electric and combustion versions — will be offered as the MINI Paul Smith Edition. The new edition continues the collaboration with British designer Paul Smith, following earlier projects such as MINI STRIP and MINI Recharged, and reinforces the brand’s focus on individuality and design.

The results of 2025 suggest that MINI’s combination of expanded electric offerings, refreshed design, and distinctive driving character is resonating with a growing global audience. If the current trajectory continues, fully electric models are set to play an increasingly central role in shaping the brand’s future.
