Honda 0 SUV Prototype Revealed with Max Verstappen at Red Bull Showrun

Honda 0 SUV debuts at Tokyo Showrun with Max Verstappen. Built on a new EV platform, the SUV marks a bold step in Honda's electrification journey.
In a high-profile appearance in Tokyo, the all-electric Honda 0 SUV Prototype made its global public debut during the Red Bull Showrun event — with none other than four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen behind the wheel. The event celebrated Honda's long-standing partnership with Red Bull Racing and served as the first real-world glimpse of the brand’s next-generation EV ambitions.
Originally unveiled at CES 2025, the Honda 0 SUV is part of the broader Honda 0 Series, a lineup built on the principles of being “Thin, Light, and Wise.” These values are reflected in the SUV’s minimalist geometric design, praised for its futuristic styling and aerodynamic profile. Some experts have already drawn parallels with vehicles like the Polestar 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
Alongside the electric SUV, Honda showcased iconic race cars — from the modern RB16B to the historic RA272, which earned a landmark victory at the 1965 Mexico Grand Prix. It was the first time a Formula 1 Grand Prix was won by a Japanese manufacturer, marking a major milestone in motorsport history.
The 0 SUV is built on Honda’s newly developed EV platform, designed from the ground up. The structure utilizes lightweight materials such as high-tensile steel and aluminum, combined with cutting-edge construction methods. The vehicle offers a spacious interior, next-level digital personalization via ASIMO OS, and a focus on making the cabin a smart, adaptable “space for people.”
Mass production of the Honda 0 SUV is scheduled to begin in 2026 at the company’s EV Hub in Ohio — an advanced facility backed by over $1 billion in investments. A new $4.4 billion battery plant, developed in partnership with LG, will supply the project. While North America will be the first market, global expansion into Japan and Europe is planned.
Official pricing is yet to be announced, but UK-based WhatCar? estimates a starting price of around £46,000. Positioned above the Honda e:NY1 and below premium competitors like the Audi Q4 e-tron, the 0 SUV is expected to be offered in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options, with an 85 kWh battery and up to 300 miles of range.
Industry analysts see the model not just as another EV, but as a signal of Honda’s strategic commitment to redefine the role of the vehicle itself — from a means of transportation to a personalized digital environment. The Honda 0 SUV marks a bold move into the future of mobility.
