Hyundai NEXO 2025 Debuts with 700 km Range and Hydrogen Tech

Discover the 2025 Hyundai NEXO: 700 km range, AI voice assistant, towing capability & bold design. Explore Hyundai’s new hydrogen SUV now.
At the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the all-new generation of its hydrogen-powered SUV, the NEXO, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s commitment to clean mobility. With a bold redesign and upgraded powertrain, the new NEXO combines performance, sustainability, and next-gen technology.
Hyundai’s latest FCEV boasts an impressive 700+ km driving range and a refill time of just five minutes. These gains are made possible by a revised fuel cell system producing 110 kW, a front motor delivering 150 kW, and a significantly improved battery output — resulting in a total system output of 190 kW, up from 135 kW in the previous generation. The hydrogen tank capacity has also increased to 6.69 kg, ensuring extended trips between fill-ups.
The new platform also introduces enhanced aerodynamics, improved NVH levels via ANC-R noise control, and a towing capacity of up to 1,000 kg — a first for production FCEVs in Europe. Performance-wise, the NEXO accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds.
Design-wise, the NEXO embodies Hyundai’s new Art of Steel language, first seen in the INITIUM concept. Sleek HTWO lighting elements, dynamic lines and a solid structure emphasize both elegance and durability. Inside, the cabin delivers a “furnished” feeling with digital mirrors, ambient lighting, a floating center console, and an AI-powered interface with voice recognition and fingerprint ID.
Safety and driver-assistance remain central to the NEXO’s design, with up to nine airbags and a full suite of ADAS systems, including LKA, BCA, SCC, and RSPA 2. Hyundai has also implemented structural enhancements and a crash-optimized design to help the vehicle achieve top-tier global safety ratings.
The new NEXO is expected to launch in South Korea by the end of 2025, with starting prices of approximately $63,000 in the US and £69,495 in the UK. Hyundai continues to expand the hydrogen refueling network through partnerships with companies like Shell in key markets, including California and parts of Asia.
As Hyundai accelerates its HTWO hydrogen mobility strategy, the next-gen NEXO stands as a symbol of the brand’s vision: zero-emission transport with no compromise on capability, design, or innovation.
