Mazda has announced pricing and packaging for the all-new CX-5 for the 2026 model year in the United States, marking an important step for one of the brand’s most critical vehicles. As Mazda’s best-selling model in the U.S., the CX-5 enters its third generation with a clear focus on refinement, space, and technology rather than radical reinvention.

The new CX-5 grows in size compared with its predecessor, benefiting from increased overall length and a longer wheelbase. These changes translate into improved rear-seat space and a more practical cargo area, while the exterior retains a familiar silhouette. Subtle but deliberate updates to Mazda’s Kodo design language include a revised front fascia, a new LED lighting signature, and a wider visual stance emphasized by bold “Mazda” lettering in place of traditional badging.

At launch, the 2026 CX-5 is powered by Mazda’s naturally aspirated 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G four-cylinder engine, producing 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and i-Activ all-wheel drive comes standard across the entire range. Mazda Intelligent Drive Select allows drivers to choose between Normal, Sport, and Off-Road modes, while suspension revisions and an updated G-Vectoring Control Plus system with an electronic brake-based limited-slip function aim to deliver more predictable handling and stability.

A major highlight of the new generation is the updated digital environment inside the cabin. The CX-5 introduces the latest Mazda Connect system built on Google built-in technology, with either a 12.9-inch or an available 15.6-inch center display. Many vehicle functions can be controlled through voice commands, and Mazda has confirmed support for Google services, with Gemini assistant functionality planned to further enhance hands-free operation and reduce driver distraction.

Safety remains central to the CX-5’s positioning. Every version comes standard with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control with speed limit assist, automatic emergency braking at the front and rear, blind spot monitoring, emergency lane keeping support, driver attention monitoring, and multiple parking aids. Higher trims add features such as a 360-degree view monitor, advanced traffic support systems, and automated lane change assistance.

The U.S. lineup consists of five trims, ranging from the CX-5 2.5 S with a starting MSRP of $29,990 to the range-topping Premium Plus at $38,990, excluding destination charges. Mazda says the new CX-5 will arrive at dealerships in the coming months, while a hybrid variant is planned for 2027, signaling the next phase in the model’s evolution.
