Ford PRO became the market leader in the Dutch light commercial vehicle sector for the first time in 2025, marking a historic milestone for the brand. It is the first time Ford’s commercial vehicle division has finished a full year as the number one player in the Netherlands.
The result was driven by strong performances across key model lines. Transit Custom emerged as the best-selling commercial vehicle in the country and led the one-ton segment. Ranger dominated the pick-up market with more than 63 percent share, while Transit maintained a solid third position in the two-ton segment. In the compact class, Ford PRO stood out as the only brand offering two models — E-Transit Courier and Transit Connect — available with all major powertrain options, including conventional, plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions.
Over the full year 2025, Ford PRO achieved a market share of 23.9 percent in the Dutch light commercial vehicle market, with 4,968 vehicles registered. Nearly 60 percent of these were fully electric, underlining the pace at which the market is shifting. These figures reflect a year shaped by tighter emissions regulations, revised fiscal rules and the gradual rollout of zero-emission zones in urban areas.
Electric vans played an increasingly important role in this transition. Models such as the E-Transit, E-Transit Custom and E-Transit Courier were positioned as practical solutions for businesses facing urban restrictions and rising operating costs. During 2025, Ford PRO also announced upgrades for the E-Transit Custom, including improved driving range, faster charging and enhanced digital features designed to support daily productivity.
Beyond vehicles, Ford PRO continued to invest in services aimed at improving fleet efficiency. The company points out that many businesses still use only a fraction of the data generated by their vehicles. With solutions such as Ford Pro Telematics and FORDLiive, Ford PRO focuses on reducing downtime, improving fleet transparency and supporting productivity for customers ranging from sole traders to large fleet operators.
The commercial success is reinforced by strong brand credentials. In 2025, the Ford Transit marked its 60th anniversary in Europe, maintaining its reputation as a long-standing workhorse for businesses. The Ford Ranger, meanwhile, was awarded the International Pick-Up Award 2026/2027, becoming the most awarded model in the history of the competition.
Taken together, the 2025 results show that Ford PRO’s leadership in the Netherlands is built on more than sales volume alone. As zero-emission zones expand and electrification accelerates, the combination of a broad electric line-up and connected services positions the brand to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving commercial vehicle market.
