Polestar 3 has been named the safest Executive Car of 2025, as reported by Euro NCAP, following top scores in child, adult and active safety. Read the details.
Polestar 3 has been named the safest vehicle in the Executive Car category for 2025 by Euro NCAP, earning the organisation’s Best in Class award. The recognition reinforces the model’s position as a benchmark for safety within its segment and builds on its strong performance in independent crash testing.
In April 2025, Polestar 3 achieved a five-star rating under the latest Euro NCAP test protocol, recording an overall score of 87%. The results highlighted particular strengths in key areas, including 90% for adult occupant protection and 93% for child occupant protection. The latter represented the highest score awarded to any passenger car tested by Euro NCAP over the past nine years, effectively setting a new standard for child safety.
Further categories confirmed the model’s balanced safety profile. Polestar 3 scored 79% for the protection of vulnerable road users and 83% for safety assistance systems. Euro NCAP assessments pointed to the effectiveness of the vehicle’s advanced driver assistance technologies, such as automatic emergency braking, driver monitoring and measures designed to mitigate secondary impacts in a collision.
According to Euro NCAP, Polestar 3 delivered strong and consistent performance across all test areas, protecting not only occupants but also other road users. In several evaluations, the vehicle’s results were described as very close to a perfect score, particularly in child occupant protection.
Polestar attributes these outcomes to its close technical collaboration with Volvo Cars and a development philosophy that integrates safety as a core element of vehicle performance. The company emphasises that structural innovations and advanced assistance systems were developed as part of a unified safety concept rather than as isolated features.
With this award, Polestar 3 becomes the third model in the brand’s line-up to receive Euro NCAP’s highest safety distinction, following Polestar 2 and Polestar 4. The achievement underlines a consistent approach to safety across the range and suggests that similar standards are likely to be carried forward into upcoming models.
