On April 4, 2025, New York City hosted the high-profile launch of a new collaboration between Mercedes-Benz, Moncler, and designer NIGO. Held at the revamped Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan flagship, the event unveiled a fashion collection alongside the exclusive G-Class Past II Future limited-edition vehicles.

The collection, brought to life via the Moncler Genius co-creation platform, blends 80s and 90s influences with New York street style and Mercedes-Benz design cues. Gender-neutral pieces include iconic puffer jackets featuring the Mercedes three-pointed star, plaid shirts, hoodies, and varsity jackets. The collection is available in selected Moncler boutiques worldwide — including New York, London, Paris, and Beijing.

At the heart of the launch lies the ultra-exclusive Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future — only 20 vehicles will be made. Based on the G 450 d and G 500 models, each unit features two-tone green and grey paintwork, signature checkered interiors, and unique detailing like collaboration logos and black exterior accents.

The campaign, shot by photographer Thibaut Grevet, captures rooftop scenes in NYC with models styled in the new collection, evoking the vibe of urban gatherings. A documentary film by Theodor Guelat explores NIGO’s creative process and his philosophy: “Learn from the past to create something new.” The release date for the film remains undisclosed.

Meanwhile, Hot Wheels will launch a 1:64 die-cast model of the G-Class Past II Future, available for pre-order starting April 18 on MattelCreations.com. With real rubber tires and intricate detailing, the miniature reflects the spirit of this cultural crossover.

This isn’t the first Mercedes-Benz and Moncler venture. In 2023, they introduced PROJECT MONDO G — an art car inspired by Moncler’s puffer heritage. With NIGO now in the mix, the latest project reaffirms the brands' shared vision of merging design, luxury, and cultural relevance — a direction that is clearly gathering momentum.
