Autoblog reports that a low-mileage Porsche 918 Spyder sold for a record $6.05 million at Mecum Kissimmee. Read why this sale matters.

A rare 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder with just 845 miles has set a new benchmark at Mecum Kissimmee 2026, selling for $6.05 million. The result eclipsed the previous price record for the model by nearly $2.1 million, instantly making this car the most valuable 918 Spyder ever sold at public auction.

This particular example combines the coveted Weissach Package with a truly unique finish: Paint-to-Sample Pure Orange. It is the only 918 Spyder specified in this color, an option that cost $21,000 when new in 2014. The bright exterior is echoed inside, where the usual Acid Green accents were replaced with matching orange details.

The Weissach Package further elevates the car’s appeal. Designed to reduce weight and sharpen the track-focused character of the 918, it incorporates lightweight components and aerodynamic enhancements. According to Porsche, a Weissach-equipped car is around 40 kilograms lighter than the standard version, underscoring the engineering intent behind the specification.

Equally important is the mileage. With only 845 miles recorded, this 918 Spyder remains remarkably close to delivery condition more than a decade after production ended. By comparison, the previous auction record for the model was set in 2023, when another 918 Spyder Weissach sold for $3,937,500.

The Porsche 918 Spyder itself occupies a special place in modern automotive history. Limited to 918 units, it emerged as part of the early 2010s hybrid hypercar era. Its naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8, paired with two electric motors, delivers a combined 887 horsepower. In 2013, the model made headlines by becoming the first series-production road car to lap the Nürburgring in 6:57, breaking the seven-minute barrier.

The $6.05 million result in Kissimmee is more than a headline figure. It highlights how exceptional specifications, ultra-low mileage, and documented uniqueness can push values far beyond established market references. While it remains to be seen how broadly this sale will influence other pristine 918 Spyders, this Pure Orange example now stands alone as the most valuable of them all.
