MAN Truck & Bus reports nearly 6% higher vehicle sales in 2025, supported by strong electric truck and bus growth. Read the full results and market context.

MAN Truck & Bus closed the 2025 financial year with an almost six percent increase in vehicle deliveries, reaching around 101,600 units worldwide. The result was achieved despite persistently difficult market conditions, particularly in the European truck sector, which the company compares to levels seen during the coronavirus years. Battery-electric vehicles and record performance in the van segment proved to be the main growth drivers.

The truck business remained largely stable. MAN delivered approximately 63,300 trucks, only slightly below the previous year’s level. Within this segment, demand for electric trucks developed strongly. Following the start of series production in 2025, more than 620 heavy-duty eTrucks were sold, and the order books for 2026 are already well filled. This points to a gradual but tangible shift toward electric solutions, even as the overall market remains subdued.

MAN’s bus business recorded a clear recovery in 2025, with sales rising by almost 49 percent to more than 7,000 vehicles. Battery-electric models once again played a decisive role. Deliveries of electric city buses more than doubled to over 1,300 units, setting a new record for the company. This growth was achieved even before the market launch of the fully electric MAN Lion’s Coach E, which was presented in 2025 and is scheduled to enter production in 2026.

The strongest momentum came from the van segment. With around 31,300 vehicles sold, MAN reached its highest-ever volume in this category, representing growth of more than 13 percent year on year. The result was supported by the continued internationalisation of the MAN TGE business. In 2025, the van became available in new markets outside Europe, including the United Arab Emirates, with further expansion planned for 2026.

Regional developments remained mixed. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, truck sales declined by nearly eight percent, although MAN maintained its position as market leader in Germany. At the same time, van and bus sales in the DACH region increased significantly. Elsewhere in Europe, truck deliveries rose moderately, while sales outside Europe fell due to ongoing geopolitical challenges, despite MAN strengthening its position in selected international markets.

The 2025 results underline MAN’s strategic focus on electrification and portfolio diversification. Strong demand for electric trucks and buses suggests that battery-electric vehicles will continue to gain importance in 2026, as the company further expands its electric product range.
