Skoda Strengthens EV Strategy as Electrified Sales Double in 2025
Skoda reported strong growth in 2025 as electric and plug-in hybrid sales more than doubled, reshaping the brand’s position in Europe and global markets.
Skoda Auto closed 2025 with its strongest sales performance in six years, underpinned by a decisive push into electrification. The brand delivered 1,043,900 vehicles worldwide, marking a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent. Fully electric and plug-in hybrid models played a central role in this growth, firmly establishing electrification as a cornerstone of Skoda’s long-term strategy.
In Europe, Skoda delivered 836,200 vehicles and, for the first time, secured third place among all car brands in its core market. Electrified vehicles were a defining factor: 25.7 percent of all European deliveries were battery-electric or plug-in hybrid models. In practical terms, every fourth Skoda sold in Europe in 2025 came with a charging plug.
Demand for fully electric models accelerated sharply. The Enyaq and the newly introduced Elroq propelled Skoda to fourth place among Europe’s best-selling electric vehicle manufacturers. Nearly 175,000 electric vehicles were delivered across the region. The Elroq emerged as one of the year’s standout performers, ranking as the second best-selling EV in Europe and leading sales charts in several individual markets.
Germany remained Skoda’s largest single market with 211,100 deliveries, while battery-electric sales there more than doubled. Even stronger growth rates were recorded in Denmark, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, where BEV deliveries increased several-fold. As a result, Skoda achieved a 6.8 percent share of the European EV market.
On a global level, Skoda delivered 218,700 electrified vehicles in 2025, including 174,900 battery-electric cars and 43,800 plug-in hybrids. This represented a year-on-year increase of 117.5 percent, highlighting the rapid pace at which customers are adopting Skoda’s electrified lineup. At the same time, established models such as the Octavia, Fabia and Kodiaq continued to provide a stable foundation for the brand’s overall sales.
International markets also supported the electrification strategy. Deliveries in India nearly doubled to 70,600 vehicles, while the start of production of the Slavia and Kushaq in Vietnam strengthened Skoda’s footprint in Southeast Asia. Continued expansion in Turkey, North Africa and the Middle East is laying the groundwork for future electrification beyond Europe.
Looking ahead to 2026, Skoda plans to take the next major step in its electric transition with the launch of two new fully electric models: the compact urban crossover Epiq and the large seven-seat SUV Peaq. Their introduction will double the brand’s all-electric portfolio and reinforce Skoda’s approach of offering customers a broad choice of powertrains, ranging from combustion engines to plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles.
