Ford F-150 Lightning sees a major price reduction in Australia, according to editor Michael Powers. Learn which version is discounted and what changes.

The Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup has received a significant price reduction in Australia, with the base Pro variant now offered at AUD 109,990. This represents a drop of nearly AUD 60,000 compared with its previous price of AUD 169,900 and applies exclusively to vehicles equipped with the 98 kWh battery pack.

The discounted pricing is limited to this specific configuration. Versions fitted with the larger 131 kWh battery are not included in the promotional program and continue to be offered at their existing price levels.

In terms of performance, the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro features a dual-motor electric powertrain delivering up to 337 kW (approximately 455 horsepower) and 1,050 Nm of torque. The estimated driving range for the 98 kWh version is around 436 kilometres on a single charge.

In Australia, the F-150 Lightning is not sold through Ford’s official dealer network. Instead, the model is available via specialist importers that handle right-hand-drive conversion and local regulatory compliance, which also applies to the vehicles offered under the current pricing program.

The sharp reduction in entry price positions the Lightning more competitively within the full-size pickup segment, where cost has previously limited its appeal. At the same time, the unchanged pricing of higher-capacity battery versions highlights the targeted nature of the offer rather than a broader repositioning of the model.
