Porsche opens its first Classic Centre in Germany, offering restoration, service, and sales of historic models. Discover the brand’s heritage in Kassel.

Porsche AG, in collaboration with the Glinicke Group, has officially opened its first Classic Centre in Germany. Located in Kassel, the centre occupies a site steeped in brand history — once home to Porsche distribution in the 1950s. On April 4, 2025, 356 guests, including motorsport legend Walter Röhrl, gathered for the grand opening.

The Kassel site becomes the fifth Porsche Classic Centre worldwide, following locations in the Netherlands, France, Norway, and Switzerland. It complements the 19 Classic Partners in Germany but stands out as the country’s first officially certified full-service Classic Centre. Combining a showroom, restoration workshop, and classic car sales, the facility blends historical architecture with modern design elements and digital infrastructure.

More than 80,000 original spare parts are available for vehicles discontinued over a decade ago — including the Porsche 356, early 911 models, 912, 914, 928, 944, and first-generation Boxsters. All services are conducted to factory standards, with options ranging from diagnostics to full restorations and highly customized Sonderwunsch projects.

This development aligns with Porsche’s broader investment in the region. In 2024, the foundation was laid for two new Porsche Centres in Kassel and Minden, expected to be completed later this year. As Karsten Sohns, Managing Director of Porsche Deutschland, noted, the Kassel centre adds “value far beyond the region.”

The site also honors the legacy of the Glinicke Group, which has represented the Porsche brand for 75 years. Managed by Fabian Hottenrott and Matthias Welter, the new Classic Centre is envisioned not just as a workshop but as a hub for the Porsche enthusiast community. Pre-opening events like the exclusive "workshop evening" in February 2025 hinted at future gatherings and classic car activities on-site.

Expertise is a cornerstone of the Kassel centre’s operations. Staff undergo formal certification and training through Porsche AG programs, with factory-original tools and historical documentation supporting the high standard of service.

With strong ties to Porsche Club Deutschland — a network of 98 regional clubs with over 8,000 members — the new centre quickly establishes itself as a destination for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The opening reflects Porsche’s commitment to tradition, individuality, and excellence — values that continue to define the brand in a changing automotive landscape.
