Audi Integrates EasyPark and ryd Apps into the MMI System
Audi has added EasyPark and ryd to its Application Store, enabling in-car payments for parking, fueling, charging and car washes via the MMI display.
Audi is expanding the capabilities of its digital app ecosystem with a clear focus on everyday convenience. Two new services – EasyPark and ryd – are now integrated directly into the MMI infotainment system via the Audi Application Store. This is not a typical smartphone-to-car connection but native in-vehicle apps operating through the central display.
Both services target routine driving tasks. EasyPark streamlines parking payments, while ryd combines fueling, charging and even car wash payments within a single interface. According to Audi, the brand is the first automaker to integrate these third-party applications directly into the MMI system.
The ryd app is already available across all Audi models equipped with the Audi Application Store. EasyPark will be rolled out gradually and is expected to be fully available by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Both services require users to create an account with the respective provider, where payment information is stored, followed by a one-time setup after installation.
EasyPark relies heavily on automation. When the vehicle stops in a supported parking zone and the transmission is shifted into “P”, a pop-up appears in the MMI display suggesting the start of a parking session. Thanks to GPS triggers, the system recognizes the area automatically. A single tap activates the digital parking meter. As the prepaid time approaches its end, a notification is sent to the driver’s smartphone, and the session can be extended via the phone or directly through the MMI. The parking session ends automatically once the vehicle leaves the space and exceeds 15 km/h.
According to Audi, EasyPark covers more than 60,000 parking locations in around 1,300 European cities, including on-street spaces, private parking lots and multi-level garages. The integration allows drivers to manage payments without switching to external apps or performing additional steps on their smartphones.
The ryd app brings together fueling, charging and car wash payments in one workflow. In Germany, it works at major fuel chains such as Aral and Esso, as well as numerous local providers. The service covers more than 10,000 fuel stations and over one million charging points across Europe, with around 90 percent of charging points in Germany supported.
The process is designed to be straightforward: nearby stations are automatically detected, the driver selects the station, enters the pump number, sets a maximum amount and chooses a payment method. Confirmation appears in the MMI display after completion. Charging follows a similar logic. The app helps locate a charging station, transfers it to the navigation system if needed, and opens automatically when approaching. Activation and payment are handled through the MMI, without requiring a contract, charging card or QR code.
The integration of EasyPark and ryd fits into Audi’s broader vehicle digitalization strategy. The Audi Application Store, developed in collaboration with CARIAD, is embedded directly into the MMI system and does not require a connected smartphone. However, an active data connection, a myAudi account and the “Audi Application Store and Smartphone Interface” equipment are required. Vehicles with a panoramic display additionally need software version 3.10 or higher.
The store already offers entertainment and information apps such as Disney+, DAZN, YouTube, Spotify and Bloomberg. With the addition of EasyPark and ryd, Audi is shifting further toward practical mobility services. Digital features inside the vehicle are increasingly handling everyday tasks, potentially reducing friction and saving time in routine driving situations.
