Skoda Elroq RS and Botas Sneakers Shine at Milan Design Week 2025

Discover the Skoda Elroq RS premiere at Milan Design Week 2025 and its unique sneaker collaboration with Botas. Explore design, performance, and style.
At Milan Design Week, Skoda Auto made a bold and artistic statement, turning its exhibition into a full-fledged creative space. The spotlight was on the all-new Elroq RS — a sporty version of the compact SUV that sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. But it wasn’t just performance that caught the eye — a surprising art installation and a limited-edition sneaker collaboration with Czech shoemaker Botas drew just as much attention.
Set in the courtyard of Milan’s contemporary art museum PAC in Porta Venezia, the exhibition went beyond a typical car reveal. In collaboration with artist Marcantonio, Skoda built a 500-square-meter immersive experience, filled with metaphor-rich sculptures: a flamingo symbolized raised ground clearance, a raccoon illustrated night vision features, and suspended clouds evoked the lightness of long-distance travel.
The Modern Solid sneaker collection, developed by Skoda designers and Botas, was unveiled in this creative setting. The high-top green shoes combine traditional craftsmanship with 3D-printed soles and waste-free knitted uppers. A commemorative batch of 130 pairs celebrates Skoda’s 130th anniversary, with two additional editions — 1,300 white-grey pairs and 1,000 with green embossing — expected later. However, the anniversary version is currently listed as unavailable in Skoda’s official online store.
Elroq RS reinforces Skoda’s position in the competitive compact electric SUV segment. With dual electric motors generating 250 kW and a driving range exceeding 550 km, it stands shoulder to shoulder with models like the Volvo EX30 and Kia EV3. Fast charging capability — 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes — adds to its appeal.
The Milan showcase is part of Skoda’s broader anniversary program. Earlier this year, the brand presented 16 iconic vehicles at Retromobile in Paris and expanded its museum exhibitions in Mlada Boleslav. More than a nostalgic celebration, Skoda’s 130th anniversary marks a confident leap into the future.
