XPENG XOS 5.6 Rolls Out Globally with Smarter Features and EV Charging Tools

XPENG's XOS 5.6 OTA update brings improved driver assistance, personalized scenarios, and smarter charging tools to users across Europe. Learn what's new.
XPENG has launched its latest over-the-air update, XOS 5.6, marking another significant step in the company’s vision for smart mobility. The new release brings enhanced driver-assistance functions, deeper personalization, and improved EV charging integration—especially tailored for European markets.
Building on the foundation set by XOS 5.2 and 5.4, the latest version reflects a user-driven approach. During the beta phase of XOS 5.2 alone, XPENG collected and implemented over 100 user suggestions. This dialogue with the community was further reinforced through events like the global OTA salon hosted in Denmark.
Driver assistance takes center stage in XOS 5.6. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) feature now minimizes sudden decelerations, while Lane Centering Control (LCC) benefits from Smart Camera Calibration. This feature, which has already received positive feedback from European users, enables automatic camera adjustments, significantly improving lane stability and accuracy.
XPENG’s x-Combo Smart Scenario System has also been expanded. Users can now automate vehicle behavior based on various parameters like speed or temperature. Pre-configured smart routines—called “Combo Codes”—can be activated via a simple code input, while the new Sharing Inheritance function allows users to generate QR codes or links via the XPENG mobile app (version 2.37.0+).
For drivers in Europe, XOS 5.6 also brings a major upgrade to the EV charging station search function. Filters for operator, plug type, and pricing now make planning long trips more efficient. These features are currently live in 18 countries, including Germany, France, the UK, and Poland. XPENG partners with major networks like Plugsurfing and Shell Recharge, offering access to hundreds of thousands of charging points across the continent.
While the Sharing Inheritance feature offers convenience, public sources do not yet provide information on specific data protection protocols. This may become a focal point in future updates.
XOS 5.6 is now available for models including the P7+, X9, G9, P7i, and G6. The update underlines XPENG’s commitment to AI-driven innovation and close collaboration with its growing user base. As for what’s next—XOS 5.8 or perhaps even 6.0—the roadmap remains undisclosed.
