BMW Open 2025 debuts as ATP 500 event with BMW iX M70 prize and FUTURE ACES program supporting disadvantaged youth through tennis.

The BMW Open by Bitpanda kicks off in Munich with a fresh identity, now upgraded to ATP 500 status. This transformation brings not only more ranking points and elite players but also powerful social initiatives that extend beyond the court.

At the heart of the opening ceremony stood the unveiling of the tournament’s Winner’s Car: the fully electric BMW iX M70. Introduced by Christian Ach, Head of BMW Germany, and Tournament Director Patrik Kühnen, the high-performance vehicle represents BMW’s flagship electric mobility. Built in Dingolfing, this SUV offers up to 25% more power, increased efficiency, and an impressive range of up to 701 kilometers (WLTP), making it a fitting reward for the champion of the new ATP 500 era.

Yet, the spirit of victory this year stretches far beyond the players. The launch of FUTURE ACES, a long-term program initiated by BMW in collaboration with MTTC Iphitos and MMP, aims to support socially disadvantaged children in Munich by offering them access to tennis and broader career prospects. Each ace served during the tournament will fund a free coaching session at MTTC Iphitos, allowing participants to develop skills in a safe, encouraging environment. With the support of dedicated mentors and access to informational sessions and internships, the young athletes can explore personal and professional pathways.

Organizers see FUTURE ACES as a sustainable platform for social empowerment, where every powerful serve on court doubles as an investment in someone’s future. Competing for both the title and the cause are top talents including Olympic champion Alexander Zverev, rising American Ben Shelton, Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, and defending champion Jan-Lennard Struff.

The matches will unfold on a newly built temporary center court seating 6,000 fans. All games will be available to watch live and free via Joyn and ran.de, with additional coverage on ProSieben Maxx, Sky, and Eurosport.
