Bentley debuts the Batur Convertible in Dubai, limited to 16 units. It marks the end of the W12 engine era with bespoke design and 750PS power.

The Batur Convertible has made its global debut in Dubai, marking a bold new chapter in Bentley’s coachbuilt portfolio by Mulliner. Limited to just 16 units, this handcrafted grand tourer is one of the final Bentleys to feature the iconic W12 engine — a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre unit producing 750 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque.

As the third coachbuilt Bentley of the modern era, following the Bacalar and the Batur coupe, the convertible blends open-air luxury with bespoke craftsmanship. Its revised intake system, turbochargers and intercoolers allow a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.

Beyond performance, the Batur Convertible is a design statement — every example is built in close collaboration between the client and the Mulliner Bespoke Studio. Owners can choose from infinite paint options, hand-painted details, aerospace-grade titanium, and even textiles derived from coffee roasting byproducts.

A standout feature is the 3D-printed rose gold detailing. Up to 210 grams of solid 18-karat gold is used for elements like the drive mode selector and vent controls, all crafted in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter — blending advanced manufacturing with traditional artistry.

The interior, inspired by the Bacalar, features a ‘wraparound’ cabin architecture with bespoke “guitar fade” veneer transitioning across the dashboard. Machined titanium organ stops and unique laser-etched audio signatures further elevate the two-seater’s cabin experience. All vehicles are hand-built in Bentley’s carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, England.

With pricing starting at over £2 million and first deliveries expected in early 2025, the Batur Convertible closes the curtain on Bentley’s W12 legacy. Looking ahead, the marque will transition to its next-generation Ultra Performance Hybrid — a V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain with more than 750 PS and up to 50 miles of electric range.

In a segment that includes the Rolls-Royce Dawn and Ferrari 812 GTS, the Batur Convertible stands apart not only in power, but in individuality. As Bentley notes, no two cars will be alike — each is a handcrafted embodiment of its owner’s imagination.
